Summary

To drive revenue growth across both retail (B2C) and corporate (B2B) segments by acquiring new customers, closing solar product and installation deals, and building long-term client relationships. The role requires a commercially disciplined, target-driven individual who understands the Kenyan market dynamics in energy, security lighting, MSMEs, institutions, and property developments. Compensation Structure Base Salary: KSh 25,000 Commission: 10% of gross sales above KSh 150,000 per month Additional Goodies Commission paid monthly. Incentive bonus for highest monthly closer. Performance-based transport facilitation for site visits. Additional per-sale reward on installation projects. Opportunity to grow into Sales Manager role. Probation (1 Month) Confirmation based on: Minimum KSh 150,000 in gross sales achieved. Demonstrated pipeline discipline. Cultural fit and professionalism. CRM compliance and reporting accuracy. Ideal Candidate Profile Proven sales experience (energy, construction, hardware, electronics, security systems preferred). Confident in closing both small ticket and bulk deals. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Self-driven and target-oriented. Comfortable with fieldwork and corporate presentations. Basic understanding of solar products is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities 1. Retail Sales (B2C) Convert walk-in, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and website leads into closed sales. Drive monthly sales of floodlights, streetlights, solar kits, batteries, and accessories. Conduct site visits for home installations and advise customers appropriately. Follow up consistently to reduce abandoned leads. Support upselling and cross-selling initiatives. 2. Corporate Sales (B2B) Identify and approach corporates, schools, hospitals, farms, property developers, contractors, churches, and gated communities. Prepare quotations and structured proposals for bulk orders and installation projects. Negotiate and close high-value deals. Build pipeline visibility and maintain a structured sales funnel. Secure repeat business and referrals. 3. Sales Operations & Discipline Maintain daily sales reporting. Update CRM with all leads and pipeline status. Track conversion rates and average deal value. Support inventory forecasting based on the pipeline. Represent KSolar professionally in client engagements.

Requirements

Key Requirements - 2+ years in a digital/offline sales role. - Strong chat selling skills on WhatsApp/Facebook/Instagram. - Strong face-to-face selling and field follow-up capability. - Proven target achievement and disciplined follow-up. - Clear communication in English and Swahili. - Comfort with CRM/chat tools and structured reporting. What Success Looks Like in 6 Months Consistently closing KSh 400,000+ monthly. Managing a healthy corporate pipeline. Recognized as a trusted solar advisor in the market. Driving repeat business and referrals.
